Charged with killing her husband
while he lay asleep, the district
court pt Jones county denied Mrs.
pUte Clark ball when her attorney
sought her release on a writ of
habeas corpus Appeal was taken
to the court of criminal appeals and
that tribunal today affirmed the de-
cision of the district court.
During the habeas corpus hear-
ing Mrs. Clark made the following
statement: “I lny there on a pallet
and decided Jo kill my husband The
first thing I did was cut off my
I hair and throw it out the door; the
reason I did this was so I could j
say, if it became necessary, that!
some one else cut my hair and
killed my husband. I cut my hair
off about 11 o’clock, about 11:30 I
reached over in a dresser drawer
• that was near my pallet and took
therefrom a pistol and while sitting
on the pallet I shot my husband in
the top of the head.”
Ball Denied Her.
With statement before It. the
court Pt criminal appeals said that
from all appearances the murder
was premeditated and for that
reason denied the appellant ball.
The higher court affirmed the
life sentence given Frank Fennell
from Dallas county convicted of
murdering Jack Kendall in June of
this year.
Pleading guilty to nine charges
of violating the liquor statutes, John
Terry from Wise county, had these
