ENERGY SAVING HOME
'PUTS MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET;
SAYS MARTIN KNELL OF McALLEN
“All the articles were helpful
but also confusing,” Knell re-
calls. The course they should fol-
low became clear, however, after
they talked to a Central Power &
Light consultant about the com-
pany’s Energy Efficiency Award
program for all-electric homes.

The Knell home is divided in-
to two zones with a water heater
and a high efficiency heat pump
for each zone. Ceiling fans help
reduce air conditioning costs;
other energy-saving features in-
clude completely, insulated hot
water pipes and timing clocks on
water heaters.
AAMhat he likes best about his
EEA home, Knell reports,
■Wis that it stays cool in the
summer and warm in the winter
on less energy. He says he defi-
nitely would recommend an EEA
house to others, since “it can cut
electricity bills as much as 50 to
80 per cent.”*
“Buy or build an EEA home
and save on the heating and cool-
ing bills and enjoy a dust-free
and soundproof home,” Knell
advises. “It also puts more mon-
ey in your pocket.”
Want more information about
the EEA plan? Check with your
architect, designer, realtor or
builder for the details, or ask for
a free booklet at your CPL office.
*The exact amount of savings will de-
pend on individual circumstances.
