Mr. Jesse W. Tapp,
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Bank of America
300 Montgomery Street
San Francisco, California
Dear Jesse:
It seemTh C though we are fated not to communicate with each
other very often.
My eldest son, Harris L. Kempner, Jr., who is generally
known as Shrub, graduated from Harvard in 1961 and has just earned his
Master of Business Administration from Stanford in June.
He is back in California waiting to do his military service and
I thought that maybe you would not mind if I asked him to try to find time to
call on you. First, because I think it would have been too bad for him to be
in California this long without taking advantage of the possibility of saying
hello to you and, secondly, because he is working on a project on which I
thought you might possibly give him some advice and leads.
I will be asking him to get in touch with your secretary before he
shows up so, if for any reason his intended visit is inconvenient to you, you can
easily call it off.
With personal regards.
Sincerely,
33
Mr. Harris L. Kempner, Jr.
