Mr. Crawford was born April 11,
1873 in Oletha, Kansas, where he'
lived until 1897, when he moved
to Arkansas and resided for three
years. He moved to Lawton, Okla-
homa in 1901, and then married
Mrs. Clara Waddell in 1907.
They moved to Waurika, where
he operated a laundry for a num-
ber cf years. Mrs. Crawford died
June 28, 1927.,On January 9, 1929,
he married Mrs. Mary Allman and
then moved to Gainesville six
months later.
Mr. Crawford engaged in the
grocery business on East Califor-
nia street for several years, and
later on Harvey street. He had
been in ill health for a year.

may also be made for membership
in existing cooperative associa-
tions. In one county a loan is now
being considered which would en-
able borrowers to become stock-
holders in a cooperative hospital.
"I am sure that there are many
worthwhile enterprises that should
be started cooperatively in this
county,” Mr. Jones said. "And I
hope that farmers who are inter-
ested will call on me at an early
date in order that we may make
requests for loans before the
money is withdrawn." He ex-
plained that a sound financial plan

sure repayment and that the co-
operative entei prise must' not
duplicate any already in existence
in the community.
