The delegation will ask the com-

with only one term expiring each
year.
The Swiss representatives with the
support of Scandanavian delegates

being referred to a committee and a

committee on admission of new states
told the Associated Press last night
that he has tbe best impressions re-
eardine: the Droerress of the assensoiy
and expressed his confidence that the
result of the present meeting wUI be
fruitful.
His committee is already at work
and will report as early as possible
after consideration of all applications
with tbe greatest impartiality he
said. Huneus declared he expected
the attitude of the TJaited States to-
ward the league would he defined
soon after the new senate meets and
he thinks the decision will be to come

mane to assure its own preservation.
Juee-SIav Row.
In connection with the application
of Montenegro for admission late the
league of nations it may be borne In
mind that the Monies nulla smrlia-
ssent late in IMS declared for the
merging of stontenegro with the king-
dom of the Serbs Croats and SUv-
eaea usually known as Jun-8lava.
King Nicholas of Montenegro how-
ever refused to recognise the act as
valid and claims have been freely
made by Montenegrin representatives
that the people as a whole were be-
ing subjected to Serbian domination
these statements meeting emphatic
denial by the Serbians. The Monte-
negrin soealled government has ex-
isted since the war only at Nenilly. a
suburb of Paris where king Nicholas
has made his headenarters.

they had once paid duty and did not
