D. C. Schimmell, a deaf mute
caused some alarm south of
town Wednesday because peop-
le could not understand what
he was up to. They brought
him to the county jail and turn
ed him over to the sheriff.
Sheriff Seago gaye him lodg-
ing for the night and fed him.
He gave it as his. opinion that
all that was matter was that
the man was hungry.
A Russian woman, Mrs. Vol-
gin, at Colorado Springs, shot
arid killed two of her children
and wounded a third because
they, were becoming American-
ized.

There was a bad wreck when
two cars and a trailer collided
on the South Highway Wednes-
day night
One was a Rusk County cou-
pe driven by Robert M. Hutch-
ins and the other an .Oklahoma
car with trailer.
They met on a hill six miles
from Gilmer and the Oklahoma
car and trailer were pretty bad
ly torn up but fortunately no
one was hurt.
