The New Diana school has
sold its $17,000 bond issue,
voted last October, to the
State of Texas. Plans for , the
new school building have been
completed, and blue prints are
now in the-County Superintend-
ent’s office.
A school with ten class
rooms as well as a large audi-
torium is contemplated, and
various offices and book rooms.
Work on the building, which is
to be of brick construction, one
story, will start as soon as the
present school' term ends . It
will be ready for occupancy
when school reopens in the
Fall.
The school officials are try-
ing to get a WPA loan of $18,-
000 to add a gymnasium and
elaborate on the present plans
The home of Mr. R. . A.
(Teeny) Adkins and family at
East Mountain was burned to
the ground Tuesday morning
at about 10:30.
The fire was thought to
have started in a flue.
Some of the contents of the
house were saved, but all of
the furniture and considerable
other things of value were de-
stroyed. There was no' insur-
