Ruby Montgomery, wife of
Paul Montgomery, colored, was
shot and instantly killed Wed-
nesday afternoon. A charge
from a shotgun in the hands
of her husband struck -her
just over the heart.
According to the husband,
he had picked up the gun and
started toward the door, in
order to shoot a sapsucker
which was eating the feed in
his, bam. At the door he met
his wife, and his story is that
she bumped into him, causing
the gun to fire.,
. His story, is being looked in-
to however. According to in-
vestigators, the charge struck
her at such an angle ats to in-
dicate that it came-from above
and to one side, rather than
from directly in front, as the
husband’s statement would in-
dicate.
