day morning he appeared
slightly improved but was still

Of the 100,000 feet of drid
lumber at the mill, worth about
$1,500, only about 2,000 feet
were saved. It was owned by
W. E. James of Rhoneborq and
T. W. Smith of--Woo County.
There was no insurance.
A cigarette dropped., among
sawdust and shavings was be-
lieved the cause of the fire.

concussion and possible hem-
morhage, at a, local hospital.
He was hit on the head by a
piece of falling timber Monday
afternoon. The injured man has
a wife and . two children.
The accident occurred while
he was fighting a fire at the
lumber mill of his brother, W.
E. James, near Rehonesboro.
While trying to save sortie of
the burning’ timbers, one eyi-
den tly fell on his head causing
the hurt;
Early Monday Mr. W.. E.
James, with several men, had
gone to the mill on a truck to
remove a piece of machinery.
At about, two-thirty in the
afternoon Mrs. James saw
smoke* rising from therdirection
of the mill three miles away,
and said she,believed that the
lumber must be on fire. Mr.
James then jumped in his-truck
got his brother and as many
neighbors as he could quickly
pick up and rushed to the scene
