pears in a certain written statement
filed by the State of Texas, acting by
and through the Commissioners’ Court of
Galveston County, Texas, with said
Judge on the 25th day of October, 1946,
to which reference is made, having here-
tofore duly selected such time and place
for hearing, as required by law, will pro-
ceed to hear said parties and said writ-
ten statement and to act thereon in the
manner directed by law.

Greeting:
You are commanded to appear and an-
swer the plaintiff’s petition at or before
10 o’clock A. M. of the first Monday after
the epiration of 42 days from the date of
issuance of this Citation, the same being
Monday, the 9th day of December, A. D.,
1946, at or before 10 o’clock A. M., before
the Honorable District Court of Galves-
ton County, at the Court House in Gal-
veston, Texas.
Said plaintiff’s petition was filed on the
23rd day of October, 1946. The file num-
ber of said suit being No. 68,646.
The names of the parties in said suit
are: Otis Adams as plaintiff, and Opal
Adams as defendant.
The nature of said suit being substan-
tially as follows, to-wit: That plaintiff is
now and has been an actual bona fide in-
habitant of the State of Texas for more
than twelve months and has resided in
this County for more than six months
next preceding the filing of this petition.
The residence of the defendant is un-
known to plaintiff. Plaintiff and defen-
dant were legally married to each other
September 29th, 1933, and lived together
as husband and wife until June 15th,
1946, on which day, on account of the
Conduct of the defendant towards the
plaintiff, they separated and have not
lived nor cohabited together since that
date. . ..
There were no children born of this
marriage, the community property con-
sists of household furniture valued at
Altis, secretary-Treasurer,
preceding the filing of this suit. That
the residence of defendant is unknown to
affiant.
That plaintiff and defendant were le-
gally married on or about the 19th day
of October, 1943, and lived together as
husband and wife until on or about the
21st day of April, 1946, when on account
of the cruel conduct on the part of the.
defendant towards the plaintiff they sep-
arated and have not lived nor cohabited
together since that date.
That as a result of said marriage, one
child was born to plaintiff and defendant,
to-wit: Geraldine Barham, a girl, age
two years, and plaintiff prays that the
Court award her the care, custody and
control of said minor child, and that the
defendant be required to contribute the
sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per week
toward the support and maintenance of
said minor child. There has been no
community property acquired by the par-
ties hereto during the course of this mar-
riage.
WHEREFORE, the premises consid-
ered, plaintiff prays that defendant be
cited to appear and answer herein and
that on final hearing hereof she have
judgment dissolving the marriage now
existing between plaintiff and defendant;
that she be awarded the care, custody
and control of the minor child, Geraldine
Barham, a girl, age two years, and that
the defendant be required to contribute
the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per week
toward the support and maintenance of
said minor child; and that she have such
other and further relief, both general and
special, whether at law or in equity, as
she may show herself justly entitled to,
with her costs, etc., as is more fully set
forth in the petition now on file in my
office.
