trains No. 8 and 8 at Western Springs
yesterday was investigated today by
several of the road’s officials, with
this result: The evidence that the ac-
cident was caused by the failure of
the flagman of train No. t properly to
protect his train against mall train
No. 8. The sngineer of mail train No.
8 contributed toward the accident by
running by the block signal set against
him at Western Springs. The federal
Government is taking an active part
in the investigation of the wreck and
it was reported several arrests may
follow completion - of the investiga-
tion.
