Austin people believe it will. Within
the coming year they expect to see
manufacturing establisbments repre-
venting large capital where now the
prickly pear and the menquite grow.
That win mean considerable acces-
Fiona to the population — and Increased
business for all lines. But the dam.
or rather the lake, has another com-
mercial sie. It and the enterprises it
will give rise to will be the means of
attracting innumerable excursions and
conventions this way, end of bringing
pieasure seekers and tourists from
long distancen. This will oall for the
erection of additional hotels, promo
tion of amusement enterprinem, the
erection of a big auditorium, the build-
ing of homes and summer cottages
Already a building inspiration trace-
able to the rebuilding of the dam is
quite niticeabie. A good start has
already been mad* toward lining the
Dam Boulevard with attractive cot-
against the men the police today for-
mally held their wives as witnesses,
as well as the third man, Max Kahn,
who, the police say. Is a pickpocket
and who was in the flat with the gun-
men- All three of the witnesses were
arraigned today before Coroner Fein-
berg and held in $1000 ball each. The
police also seised a large number of
papers in the Ilat where the capture
was made.
Horowits and Rosensweig probably
will be arraigned on a formal charge of
murdering Roaenthal before a justice
of the Supreme Court tomorrow. Al-
though the District Attorney’s ffice
had offered $5000 for the capture of
"Gyp the Blood*' and "Lefty Louie,” the
police detectives who brought about
their arrest will not get the reward.
The provisions of Mr Whitman’s offer
specifically barred the police.
So far as developments here were
concerned, there was no evidence of

Added disclosures today point strongly
to the posaibiuity that Snead waa aided
by some friend in the steps which led
up to the tragedy, and the identity of
this second party la at present a mat-

Revelations today show that a heav-
ily-built. bearded man on last Monday
rented a room at the reel de nce of T.
E McKibben, 107 East Bixth Btreet.
I This residence la located on a side
street just off Polk Street, on which
the tragedy was enacted, and within
lees than a block of the actual scene of
the killing The room commanded a
partial view of th* main street ia the
direction of the Boyce home, located
some three blocks away.
On the following Friday a man an-
swering the same description and giv-
ing the name of W. A. Walker, con-
tracted with a local realty man for a
few months’ rental of a small vacant
cottage on Polk Street, but half a
block from the McKibben home, di-
rectly opposite the Polk Street church
building In front of which Boyce fell
fatally wounded yesterday evening.
The cottage located at 803 Folk
Street is one of three of similar design,
all of them closely adjoining, with a
narrow alleyway dividing. Neighbors
[ complained that two men of tremp-
like appearance occupied the cottage
, on Thursday night preceding the dale
- of contract. Complaint was made to
। the owner of the cottage on the fol-
. lowing day — Friday — that undenir-
i ables had been located next to them.
