Hogg May Be Candidate
For Attorney General.
San Antonio Express:
Dallas Tex. Sept. 7 Hon W.
A. Shaw editor of "Texas Farmer"
and a close personal and political
friend of former Governor James"S.
Hogg today gave out the following
significant and surprising state-
ment: "Unless ex-Governor Hogg be-
comes a candidate for Attorney
General of Texas as I want him to
do I am out of active politics. If
Hogg will run I'll take off my
oat and get into the scramble in
proper form. This talk about Hogg
wanting to be a United States
Senator is nonsense. He has told
me that he would rather be an
alderman in a Texas town than be
a member of the United States
Senate. Besides all this he has a
high regard for Joe Bailey and has
nothing against him. When I was
fighting Bailey to the best of my
ability .Mr. Hogg used to tell me
that my estimate of Bailey was
sadjy wrong. He said Bailey was a
big broad bold man who stood by
his convictions to the last; that he
was honest and fearless and 'by
gatlins' he loved him because he
stood by his friends. That was and
is his opinion of Joe Bailey. Hogg portions of this country. This

ed sermon because it requires an
introduction two heads and an ap-
plication." "A kiss is a peculiar proposition
of no use to one yet absolute bliss
to two. The small boy gets it for
nothing the young man has to
steal it and the old man has to buy
it. Baby's right lover's privilege
the hypocrite's mask. To a young
girl faith to a married woman hope
and to ah old maid charity."

"A kiss is what perfume is to the
rose."
' "A draught of nectar sipped at
the spring of love."
"The sweet fruition of a fond
emotion."

"A poorest mother's richest
blessing."
