eitizens of Austin, are finding places at which to work to pay their
expenses while in the University.

could lie brought into operation with the mothers of our eity homes
[in the University who needs help would have it. There are numbers
of boys who have come up to Austin with only money enough to
pay their registration fees. Only today, Mr. Corrie reports to us a
boy from East Texas who hes but $2.80 after paying the email fee
required to enter. Another boy has worked at odd jobs every day
this week making from $1.50 to $2.25 a day in order'to make money
Ito buy his books. This young fellow (is quick, industrious and deter-

Fifth Austin Troop of the Boy Scouts
of America gathered at the club room
of the scouts in the Pope building in
regular meeting last night. Enthusiasm
was manifested over the large attend-
dence and a number of suggestions
were made for the upbuilding of the
troop Everybody agreed to endeavor
to interest one other boy in the work
and to invite him to the next regular
meeting to be held October 2. Scout-
master A. O. Watson presided at the
mooting and made a talk to th* boys.
After adjournment the Scoute pro-
eroded to Van Smith’s drug store and
enjoyed refreshments. The evening’s
