Millions of miles of wire have come to the aid of Morse and Bell, to make it possible that
you and I shall be able to communicate with those we love. Do you remember how you.thrilfed
to hear the voice of your son who had been across the Pacific? Back in the homeland, his first
thought was to talk with the home folks. Thus we have been privileged to keep close contact
with absent members of the home, though many miles away from the fireside. Life must touch
life and we are the better for the inflowing of one life upon another. Love cries out for the hand
and voice of the beloved.
Out of his heart of love the Heavenly Father called us into being that we might be with
Him. Made in His image, created for fellowship with each other and with God. our hearts are
restless till they find rest in Him. We find ourselves as the children of divine love and care; we
belong to the household of God; we are all prodigals until we come to be at home with the Father.
How may we keep in touch with God? Eyes of faith will reveal God at work by our side
this very day. He is not far away, in some secluded haven; He walks our way and if we will
open our eyes we shall find Him as near as was the Master with the disciples on the way to
Emmaus. There is "The Christ of the Indian Road” and there is the loving Spirit of God on
every road where God's children must travel.
Our speech with God we call Prayer; it is the reaching out of the human hand to be
grasped by the divine; it is a sense of invisible but genuine comradeship. "He walks with me
and He talks with me" and I know I live in His care. •
1 When we gather in companies to sing praise to our Father—God—we call that activity
Worship; it is a reverent sharing of the sense of divine blessing; it is the family of God gathering
for a weekly home coming of the soul. Your life and mine will be radiant and strong if we keep
up our lines so we can keep “in touch with God "
