were installed in 1904 and since
that time the clock has been
wound every. 14 days by Joe
Bednar, known here as Father
Time.
A large bell which has heen
the medium for the clock's
chimes had a large hammer
shaped arm which struck the
bell every .hour on the hour.
Last week the clock took on a
new lodk and was completely
electrified by the Jackson Tower
Clock Company of Topeka, Kan
sas. Approximately 1000 pounds
of weights were removed from
the clock when the electric sys-
tem was installed. The dials and
the face border of all four sides
