Shiro-Roans Prairie Home Dem-
onstration Club met Thursday
afternoon, June 12, at the lovely,,
spacious home of Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Jolly with Mrs. Jolly as hos-
tess and twenty-two members

The meeting was called to or-
der by the president, Mrs. Sim
Cone. The creed, pledge snd
prayer were given. Mrs. Ray-
mond Burgess, club Song , leader,
led the group in singing ‘The
Eyes of Texas.” Mrs. Elmer
Carrol-had the roll calland read
minutes of last meefing. Mrs.
Burgess gave a report on cloth-
ing for underprivileged children.

This is the first music scholar-
ship given by the club for de:
serving band students. The fund
was feet up to allow some stu-
dent to attend a summer band
school.. No particular school was
designated by the club.
Jane has been a member of
the Sidewiner band for three
years and a twirler for two of
these yearsj. She is one of the
two girls who march behind the
band during parades and drills.
She is also the band's bassoon-
ist.
