of the ordinary wall or portable auxiliary heater,
stalled in the ceiling, for the utmost in service.
This places it, of course, beyond the reach of
hands and eliminates the chance of burns or.
from backing into an ordinary heater.

A fan draws the air from the ceiling, pu.. n through the
unit and thus heats it and forces it down into the room
where it is circulated for uniform, comfort from floor to
ceiling. Thus, it’s ideal for bathrooms, bedrooms, nurseries.

Supervisor Lewis A. Miller ex-
plained that since these increase
es are to be automatically taken
care of in Austin. it will not be
necessary to get in touch with
the local or Austin office of the
State Welfare Department.
By way of illustration, Super-
visor Lewis A. Miller explained
that an aged person who is not
receiving old age and survivors
insurance and has been getting,
for example, $34.00 old age as-
sistance will receive $39.00 be-

FHE vigorous words, written
• many hundreds of years age
. to describe what happens when
men stop working and become
sluggards, describe what happened
in many countries where the
masses turned from honest toil,
, not in this instance to sleep like
sluggards, but, to engage in the
- equally unproductive business of
war. The wise man of the Prov-
erbs predicted that “want as an
armed man” would come to the
I non-worker, and that is the situa-
tion in the lands stricken by war.
Even in countries like ours we
have had ample demonstrations
of what happens when men stop
working. Without trying to assess
the matter of rights and causes,
one can point to what happens
when trains stop running, when
steel mills stop producing and
when coal isn’t dug.
Such strikes and lockouts no
, longer affect only the things that
people can do without, but they
imperil the very basis of living
and safety. Even the automobile
that was once a luxury is now.
for many people, essential in the
business of life. Regardless of
where the blame liesit ought to.
be /evident that when work is
stopped in any basic industry the
very fabric of society is en-
dangered. -e-"o*E rawrnmram-
The problems associated with
the right not to work have be-
come more emphasized than those
which for a long time were con-
cerned with unemployment and
the right to work.
The productive powers of man
are so great that if all who are
• able to work were doing their fair
share, and were doing it faith-
fully, the resulting resources for
the satisfaction of human needs
and for the aggrandizement of
life would be so great that short
hours of labor, with much time
for leisure, pleasure and home-
building would be available for
all. But the greatness of this pro-
ductive power leads men to for-
get the tragedy that befalls, when
men cease producing at all, or
when great numbers of them do.
So, the wise words concerning
work are still words of wisdom.
And the words of Jesus are above
all to be remembered, “My Father
worketh hitherto; and I work."
