Davis McBride from Denver,
Colo. Is visiting his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack McBride for a

Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Horten,
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Allen
went to Houston Saturday to
see Mr. Horten’s sister, Mrs.
Claudia Hicks, who is in the
Methodist hospital.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Wal-
ter Horten went to see Mrs.
Hicks and she knew them and
talked to Johnnie Hicks a lit-
tle.
Lee Amick, 68, nephew of the
late Mrs. A. M. Bookman and
cousin of Miss Trannie Franck-
low of Navasota and a former
resident of Navasota, died sud-
denly at his home July 9.
Surviving are his wife, a son,
Lee Amick, Jr. of Tucson; a
daughter, Mrs. William Cun-
ningham of Fresno, Calif.; and
two grandsons and one grand-
daughter.
Mr. Amick served in the
Army during World War I and
was stationed in Fort Sill,
where he was assigned to the
Ambulance Corps. He remained
here during the war period.
Later he became an employee
of the Pima County Hospital in
Tucson where he worked until
he retired four years ago. He
was a life long member of the
Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, July 11, at 4 p.m.

day last week of having one
of her little playmates to ac-
cidently run over one of her
legs and breaking a bone. Hon-
ey, we wish you a speedy re-
covery.
