Four Area Fires
Keep Volunteers
Busy This Week
Four fires, one of which
destroyed a frame house at
Cotharn, kept Navasota vol-
unteer firemen busy this
week.
On Aug. 21, firemen sub-
dued a small blaze in a
building on Foster street in
15 minutes. A grass fire Fri-
day on LaSalle Street was
caused by trash burning and
it took 30 minutes to put out.
The B. Love family at Cot-
harn lost their house and
most of their possessions in a
blaze Sunday morning. Fire-
men battled the fire for more
than an hour.
A blaze was discovered in
a pasture near Binford's Store
on Highway 105 Monday. It
took firemen some two hours
to bring the fire under con-
trol.
