Henry Langdon, a business man of |
moderate means and Evelyn, his wife,
have a bungalow in an ult ra-fashion-
able suburban town in California, and
huving soeial aspirations, they b.....me
members of a smart and expensive
Country Club. At n club dance at which
each seeks and finds his “affinity,”
Evelyn accepts the attentions of Bruce
Grey, n millionaire bachelor, while her
husband Henry offers to take Mrs.
Hammond home in his flivver.
The gasoline is exhausted and Henry
goes to a nearby house for a fresh sup
ply. A dog ehases him up a tree, after
removing part of his trousers and later
Henry appropriates a pair of overalls ;
which Ite finds in a garage, leaving
his name and address. But meanwhile
Mrs. ITammond has dimappeared and
when he reaches home at dawn, he
quiets his wife's suspicions by telling
her Hint he lad been held up by a high 1
wayman whom ho lad put to flight. The ।
owner ofthe overalls appears and de l
mands his property, while Mrs. Ham |
mond drives up in the flivver. Evelyn l
finally learns the truth and exacts a
promise from Henry to remain away
from “ tiat Hammond woman."
Evelyn provides Henry with an “af-
finity” in the person of Betty Turner
ami he starts off with her for the golf
links. ........ Grey calls on Evelyn and
she suggests that, they go to the golf
links where she hopes to find Henry.
