Mr. Murray Shields, Vice President Bank of the Manhattan Company 40 Wall Street New York, N. Y. My dear dr. Shields: I have your note of the 26th enclosing a copy of the pan- phlet "Opportunities and Pitfalls in Foreign Trade". I have also received the very liberal amount of other material that you sent me a few days ago. I am a slow reader and prior to receipt of the articles you sent I had become very apprehensive of the ability on my part to digest all this data and be able to present it in an intelligent or appealing form. It ill probably be a month before I shall be prepared to return this to you and if that is too long to hold these various pamphlets, tabulations, etc., please let me know and I will try to adapt my action in the premises to your convenience and desires. With best wishes, Yours very truly,
