My dear Mr, Kempner:
You don't know how much I appreciate your letter of
September 20th with copy of letter from Price Daniel, which
I am returning herewith.
Monday night I had the pleasure of introducing Mr. Vollmer,
President of the Texas & Pacific Railroad Company, in a
speech he made to the County Judges and Commissioners Associa-
tion. At this dinner I saw Price Daniel and a lot of the
other "Big Shots". Price iold me he had received a letter
from you. I told him I was sure it was a partisan letter,
because I knew you would do as much for Walter, Jr. as any
living human on account of his grandfather. He then told me
definitely that he had talked with Walter, Jr. and that the
matter was arranged and I thank you sincerely. Since
"alter, Jr is so all-fired anxious to be a lawyer, he should
try to make a great lawyer and the way to do that is work like
the devil and get plenty of practice and I know of no place
he can get started off in high gear better than representing
the Stte.
with all good wishes, I am
Sincerely yours,
ww- j
