"Je.law ot Kindness, or Applied
crIBunity,” was the subject of yes-
terday morning's sermon delivered by
Rev. W. A. McLeod at the Hirst South-
ern Presbyterian Church. The pastor
referred to t} oyster to illustrate the
point desired and lie took his text from
Eph; 4:32 and 51. He said in part:
"What is Christianity? Suppose you
ask me to define it, or that I ask you ?
We use the term daily; what du we
mean by it? It may be answered that
( hristianity is the body of principles
and precepts of Jesus embodied in the
Bible. And so far so good; but it is
more than that; it is this much, plus
these receipts and principles applied tu
human life and cuqluet. We might
ray then that CfMstianity is ‘ the
teaching of Jesus applied to thought
and conduct.
This means that there is an applied
Christianity.' There is applied inathe-
maties, applied chemistry, applied elec-
tricity. And it is only as these are
applied that they serve to advance the
race -in the scale of happiness. 'Do not
think for once that all ('hristianity is
applied any more than that all chem-
istry is applied to the advancement of
humanity. ,
Shows Need of Application.
