CHICAGO, Sept. Boorish con-
structions placed on the government
crop report gave a setback today to
the price of wheat and so too did
uncertainty in regard to war develop-
ments in the Balkans. The market
closed unsettled 3% to 2%0 not low-
er with Beptember at $1 83% and De-
cember at $1,54°, Corn lost !• to 2c
and oats 40 % to %Ole. In pro-
visions the outcome ranged from 60c
docline to a rise of 20c.
Weakness showed itself in the wheat
market as soon as trading began and
rallies at no time allowed the bears to
assume more than temporary control.
It was contended by many dealers that
the government crop figures did not
fully confirm extreme low estimates
which had been made by some of the
leading crop specialties. ReallzinE
sales by holders, however, resulted dur-
ing the last fifteen minutes in the
sharpest price breaks of the day.
Corn and oats were depressed main-
ly by the relatively bearish showing of
the government crop report as com-
pared with private rorecasts.
Provisions averaged lower with hogs.
