Memorial Hospital where he hand
was removed just above the wrist.
His physician, Dr. H. M. Burgess,
reported his condition Friday as
good, and said there was little
loss of blood since the type of In-
jury involved crushed blood ves-
sels which otherwise would have
bled freely.
Dr. Burgess said the accident
probably happened when Barnett
reached into the corn picker while
it was operating in order to loosen
some corn, and his hand was
caught in the mechanism.

Call it a bus man's holidav ... call
it civic responsibility. Either way. these
men, who spend a busy week building
components for our air might devote much
of their own spare time to work vital to
our civil and military defense.
One group belongs to the Civil Air
Patrol which does yeoman service in search
and rescue missions. The other group
belongs to the Marine Air Reserves, whose
constant rigorous training maintains a high
level of combat training ready to serve our
country’s needs at a moment’s notice.
To these men, "keeping America
strong” is more than a slogan. It is a
continuous job that starts st the community
level. And like hundreds of other TEMCO-
ites in 150 communities in North Texas,
they take the job seriously. That’s why
you'll find TEMCO folks in each of these
