ON TNI SEREEN:
It seemed fairly ertain today
that Denton will soon have an or-
dinance regulating — but not pro-
hibiting — the use of mobile loud-
speakers on city streets.
The City Commission Tuesday
night named a three • man com-
mittee to study similar ordinances
in other cities and come with a
model ordinance to regulate the
loudspeakers.
The committee appointment
came after J. P. Harrison, mans
ger of the Campus Theatre which
uses the speakers for advertising,
told the commission "Deaton
could stand to have more life
about it.”
The proposed ordinance has
been discussed at three commis-
sion meetings and the commission
has asked public opinion on the
matter.
Named to draw up the resolu.
tion were Mayor Jack Bryson, Pol-
ice Chief 1. E. (Andy) Anderson
and City Atty. Rogers Ted.
In other ho - budgetary actions,
the commission decided to draw
up plans for converting the old
diesel electric power plant on East
Hickory into a store room. The
present store rooms ia City Hall
Annex will likely be occupied by
the police department.
The commission also told City
Secy. W. D. Buttrill not to hand
out any more petitions to proper-
ty owners who want streets pav-
od. pending adoption of a new.
more permanent - typo — and
more costly — type of paving.

today everybody is touched by the

For many sessions of Congress
members have gone along with

quest to operate the many branch-

the budget examined with the view
of saving money," Ikard contin-
