“A Gentleman of Leisure” makes an
ideal Lasky comedy, because it is ab-

I believe the remarkable cure I de-
rived from Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root is
worthy of special mention.
I was troubled with pains in my back,
weak kidneys. There was a time be-
fore using Swamp-Root that I was in
misery all the time sitting or standing.
I was told by a friend that Swamp-Root
would help me and I purchased a dollar
bottle and it relieved me wonderfully.
It was certainly remarkable. Its relief
made me a new man and gave me much
comfort. I took another bottle of the
50-cent size, which cured me.
I drive every day over the roughest
section of Kentucky and have no trou-
blerwhatever with my kidneys. I have
gained 15 pounds in weight since I took
Swamp-Root. Am 31 years of age and
enjoy the best of health and I am not
afraid to recommend Swamp-Root to
anyone.

Crystal-Majestic.
Al Stevens, the German comedian, as
the undertaker in “His Jonah Day,” is
the funniest thing that has been at the
Crystal-Majestic theater in many a day.
Stevens is a real comedian and it is not
necessary for him to put over any of
the old “slap stick” comedy in order to
be funny. His every appearance on the
stage last night as the undertaker took
the audience by storm. His song, “By

clever style.
“His Jonah Day” is a clean, up-to-

company and played by them for the
first time last night at the Crystal-

Writes:
“I spent half an hour in the working

During the audience the emperor
walked up and down the room. He
was always noted for his excellent

to this on the present occasion was
really marvelous. His majesty knows
the name of the commander of every
regiment, and is well informed as to
the changes , taking place in the of-

“He is informed every day as to the
work being accomplished by the war

“Cordial relations exist between his

New York, March 18.—The text of
the peace prayer which Pope Benedict
XV. has directed shall be offered in
Catholic churches on Passion Sunday,
March 21st, has been received and, is
being distributed throughout the coun-
try. It follows:
“Dismayed by the horrors of a war
which is bringing ruin to peoples and
nations, we turn, O Jesus, to Thy most
loving Heart as to our last hope. O
God of Mercy, with tears we invoke
Thee to end this fearful scourge; O
King of Peace, we humbly implore the
peace for which we long. From Thy
Sacred Heart Thou didst shed forth
over the world divine Charity, so that
discord might endsand love alone might
reign among men. During Thy life on
earth Thy Heart beat with tender com-
passion for the sorrows of men; in this
hour, made terrible with burning hate,
with bloodshed and with slaughter,
once more may Thy Divine Heart be
moved to pity. Pity the countless
mothers in anguish for the fate of
their sons; pity the numberless fam-
ilies now bereaved of their fathers;
pity Europe, over which broods such
havoc and disaster. Do Thou inspire
rulers and peoples with counsels of
meekness, do Thou heal the discords
that tear the nations asunder; Thou
who didst shed Thy Precious Blood
that they might live as brothers, bring
men together once more in loving har-
mony. And as once before to the cry
of the Apostle Peter: Save us, Lord,
we perish, Thou didst answer with
words of mercy, and didst still the rag-
ing waves, so now deign to hear our
trustful prayer, and give back to the
world peace and tranquility.
"And do Thou, O most Holy Virgin,
as in other times of sore distress, be
now our help, our protection and our
safeguard. Amen.”
The prayer was composed by His
Holiness. It is accompanied by a de-
cree from Cardinal Gasparri, secre-
tary of state for the Vatican, prescrib-
ing- in detail the form of services
for Passion Sunday.
