was proud of her school’s Christmas tree Monday, which
she helped decorate, as voting opened for the Bay Area
Heritage Society’s annual “Christmas Tree Fantasy.”

Collecting toys
The City of Baytwn is collecting NEW TOYS for
children who might not have gifts to open on Christmas
morning in Baytown. The Baytown Police Department
is behind the wonderful Baytown Blue Santa program
which collects, wraps and delivers the gifts to kids in
town. You can drop off toys at Baytown City Hall, 2401
Market St., 8-5.
RSS Project Graduation
hosts movie night Friday
Bring your family and come join Ross S. Sterling
High School Project Graduation for an outdoor Christ-
mas movie night at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the east parking
lot at the high school (where band practices).
The Grinch is the movue feature. The cost is $5 per
person or $15 per family of three or more
Concessions such as popcorn, drinks, hot cocoa and
S’mores will be available.
Bring your own lawn chairs.
Come dressed for the occasion. A gift card will be
given to the person with the MOST Christmas spirit!
All proceeds will profit RSS Project Graduation.

Santa ‘Wrap Day’
Baytown Blue Santa
“Wrap Day” is Saturday,
Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. (or when finished).
It will be held at the Blue
Santa HQ at 111 YMCA
Drive, next to the fonner
location of the Baytown
YMCA.
Baytown Blue Santa wel-
comes the help of all vol-
unteers, ages 12 and up. An
adult must accompany all
youths under the age of 16.
Please be sure to wear
appropriate clothing and
shoes, as we will be wrap-
ping gifts and packaging
them in large gift bags for
the families. Tables and
chairs will be provided
Food will be provided to
volunteers.

Four candidates are on
the ballot.
State House Democrats.
Carol Alvarado and Ana
Hernandez are both vying
for the seat while another
Democrat, Mia Mundy, is

Elena Fierro is the lone Re-
publican to vie for the seat.
Dist. 6 covers Houston’s
East End and part of Pas-
adena. The district also
includes most of Baytown
out to Cedar Bayou, up to
just above Highway 146,
along Decker Drive and a
portion of Coady just under
McNair.
Voters can cast their
ballots from 7 a.m. to 7
p.m. through Friday at the
Baytown Community Cen-
ter, 2407 Market St.

BPD T-shirts
benefit K-9 unit
The Baytown Police De-
partment is selling T-shirts
to help supplement BPD’s
canine unit.
The shirts are being sold
for $20 each and can be
purchased in the lobby of
the Baytown Police Depart-
ment, 3200 N. Main St. Just
