NEW CHEVROLET CONVERTIBLE
No model in the line shows off to better a dvantage the styling that will feature
Chevrolets in 1956 than this Bel Air conv ertible. Note how the spear-molding Yin
the side of the fender and the new front al design add to the low fleetness of ap-
pearance.

With two new nine-passenger sta-
tion wagons and two new four-door
sedans, Chevrolet is presehting in
1956 the largest and most versatile
lineup of passenger cars in its his-
tory.
The total of 19 bodies in three
series is five more than were of-
fered at the start of production in
the 1955 model year and nearly
twice the number 'available 10
years ago.
Particularly outstanding are the
four-door sport sedans introduced
in both the Bel Air and the Two-
Ten eries.
This model has a lower silhouette
than the conventional four-door
sedan and the windshield is the
same low height as the sport coupe
which it resembles in exterior and
interior trim.
Because of its design, the sport
sedan required a completely new
body. Huge pillar, of the rear door
does not extend above the belt
line. In the redesign of the center

Gulotta said'he had no present
intention of subpoenaing Mrs.
WoodWard to appear before the
jury. ’I
On Saturday night the Wood-
wards,- parents of two sons — Wil-
liam III, 11 years old, and James,
6— had attended a party in near-
by Locust Valley in honor of the
Duchess of Windsor.
Gulotta told newsmen yesterday
that every one of the three score
guests who were at the party
would be questioned, presumably
to shed possible light on the Wood-
wards’ words and actions during
the affair.
Last night a spokesman for the
Duchess of, Windsor said she had
noticed “nothing out of the ordi-
nary in the conduct of the Wood-
wards at the party."
“She had merely congratulated
them on the performance of their
great horse, Nashua," the spokes-
man added.
The grief-stricken Mrs. Wood-
ward, former model and radio ac-
tress, has been in Doctors’ Hos-
pital in New York City since Sun-
day for treatment of shock.-

dows as the spoil coupe. However,
because of its four-door design, it
uses heavy rubber weatherstrip-

against which windows rest when
closed. This feature differs from
the window sealing “flippers" in
the sport coupe.

jury must decide whether Mrs.
William Woodward Jr.-sheuld be
required to reenact the shotgun
killing of her husband.
Woodward, 35-year-old socialite
and turfman, was shot to death
early Sunday in the dark hallway
Of his Oyster Bay home by a
blast from a shotgun wielded by
his blonde wife, Ann, 39.
Mrs. Woodward has told police
she fired in panic outside her bed-
room door after being awakened
by what might have been the bark-
ing of the family dog. Reports of a
prowler in the fashionable neigh-
borhood caused the couple, who oc-
cupied separate bedrooms, to keep
guns by their beds for protection.
Police said a young naan, arrest*
ed and charged with burglarizing a
home in the area, has admitted
breaking into the Woodward’s six-
car garage and a cabana' beside
their swimming pool late Friday
night. He is 22-year-old Paul We
Wirths, a German refugee brick-
layer. Wirths has denied, however,
being on the Woodward property
at the time of the shooting.
Wirths, arrested Tuesday, ibe-
ing held in lieu of 15,000 bail in
Nassau County Jail pending grand
jury action.
After Woodward was buried
yesterday, Gulotta — asked if Mrg.
Woodward would be required to
appear before the grand jury —
said he would “do anything the
grand jury requests" in the way
of reconstructing the fatal shoot-
ing.
The November grand jury is to
be sworn in next Wednesday at
Mineola.
The district attorney said that
if Mrs. Woodward volunteers to go
before the panel the request must
be granted and she must /waive*
immunity.
On the other hand, Gulotta said.
