the runoff election Tuesday, Lan-
ford, seeking his first public office,
nosed out Chief Harrison by 222
votes. Bryson won over Denny
Vinston, to succeed Mayor Yar-

Both the outgoing chief of police
and mayor pledged cooperation to
their successors.

approved an ordinance to pay the
