WASHINGTON ( - President
Eisenhower asks American farm-
ers tonight to go along on what
he says may be a long pull to-
ward a goal of higher stable
prices for what they produce.
Eisenhower takes off today for
Peoria. III., where he will deliver
at the Bradley University field
house a half-hour farm speech.
It will be carried by CBS radio
and television networks at 7:30
p.m., CST.
He will’ fly back to Washington
shortly after the talk.
Eisenhower decided to add an
Ohio speaking date to his cam-
paign schedule, a midday speak-
ing appearance in Cleveland Mon-
day before he travels on to Lex-
ington, Ky., for his third nation-
ally broadcast address that night.
Thus, within the span of a week.

BRIDGEPORT-Recent rapid
growth of this western Wise
County Community due to oil and
gas production is expected to
swell opening day attendance of
the Annual Wise County Fair and
Horse Show here Thursday to
more than 4,500 persons, Supt.
JohnE. Burt, Jr?, has predicted.
In previous years seen more
than 3,000 persons have jammed
Bridgeport streets for the kickoff
parade, Burt said.

Wednesday, Burt said.
OPENS THURSDAY
The fair, itself, however, is not
scheduled to open until 1:45 p.m:
Thursday when a jet fly-over will
set the tempo for the kickoff
parade at 2 p.m.
Special entertainment features
of the fair this year will include a
Boy Scout circus Thursday night,
which is making its debut with the
county-wide event. Featured in
the circus will be the national
champion Scout Indian Dancers
from Fort Worth, who will perform
in full regalia
Friday and Saturday nights will
feature sections of a horse show
which in the past has been one of
the largest in north and northwest
Texas.
REINING CLASSES
Taking the spotlight during the
two evening programs will be rein-
ing classes for horses, including
roping and cutting contests, and
barrel races for ladies, juniors,
and men.
Empire Shows from San Antonio
will operate on the fair's midway
each evening of the program.
Judging of livestock exhibits will
get underway at 10 a.m. Thursday
with placing of all dairy cattle ex-
cept Jerseys, which will be judged
at 0:30 a.m. Friday.
BEEF SWINE
Other judging will be done on
Ohio by substantial margins in
1952. He lost Kentucky by only 700
votes. '
On today's second invasion of
the Midwestern Farm Belt. Eisen-
hower has promised to blueprint
an agricultural program aimed at
what he calls “the special prob-
