A district wide faculty meeting
was conducted Friday afternoon
in the Northwest High School caf-
eteria with Sup. J. L. Hughes pre-
siding.
Hughes said the meeting was
held to discuss membership of
the Texas State Teacher’s Associ-
ation, instructions regarding child-
ren whose parents work on. Fed-
eral property and the teacher re-
tirement admendment which will
be coming up for vote in the com
ing election.
The Northwest superintendent
told the group that he would at-
tend the state meeting of the Tex-
as Association of School Admini-
strators Oct. 14 and 15 in Austin.

strip depicting the life of Babe
Didrikson Zaharias who died
Thursday of cancer. It is for pub-
lication in newspapers.
The world's greatest woman
athlete is shown in childhood, as
a young girl performing amaz-
ing athletic feats, and in the final
pictures as she fought unsuccess-
fully to win her three-year strug-
gle against cancer.
The cartoons are the first of
