are placed on the inner springs,
and then the whole is covered with
the ticking, or cover, with a design
of the customer’s choice.
The last machine is called a but-
ton tufter, and it is here where the
mattresses receive the tape-tying
treatment that leaves no gouging
buttons. The process is necessary
to keep the cotton padding from
sliding to the edge of the mattress
after it’s been slept on for a while.
The Magnolia Bedding Co. can
renovate any type of mattress, and
aven the old plain cotton mattress
can be renovated into custom built
inner spring mattresses, Adair
said.
Some of the finished products
are to be seen in the showroom in
the front of the building at 210 Dal-
las Dr. The finished mattresses
rest on a number of bedsteads of
unusual design. These beds are al-
so for sale, Adair pointed out.
