Maryland Candidates
Go All Out For Votes
ANNAPOLIS, Md. 0 —They’re
dragging but the paraphernalia to
Anne Arundel County, priming the
political pump for the primary
election.
A county commissioner candi-
date has yo-yos for the small fry
too young to vote. A sheriff aspi-
rant has hand mirrors labeled on
the back. "The lady on the reverse
side is requested to vote for can-
didate. . ”
One candidate for commission-
er has small placards mounted on
pegs. They will be driven into the
highway beside potholes saying,
“I will fix this.”

Explains Aim
Fred Freeman, who is a candi-
date for commissioner in Precinct
. 4, where he has resided the past
33 years, is one of the county’s
highly regarded livestock experts.
Freeman has been engaged in the
registered cattle business all of his
adult life, serving twice as a di-
rector in the Texas Polled Here-
ford Assn, and once as president
of Denton County Livestock Assn.
Freeman has been a director of
the Denton County Fair Assn,
for more than 20 years.
Recently Freeman completed
three years service with the U. S.
Department of Agriculture work-
ing on flood control.
His background in livestock and
farming has given Freeman a
keen appreciation of the farmer's
problems and he has a deep inter-
est to the programs of the
FFA and the 4H Clubs.
Freeman is thoroughly familiar
with the problems of Precinct 4
and pledges the voters, if elected,
to serve faithfully, fairly and ener-
getically to the interest of all the
people.
Freeman is married and resides
with his wife on Highway 77. He
is an active member of The First
Baptist Church and is a. former
president of the Denton County
Baptist Brotherhood. After gradua-
tion from Denton High School,
where he was a football player,
Freeman attended NTSC, where
he excelled to sports and was ac-
tive in campus affairs. He then en-
tered the livestock business with
his father, the late Fred Freeman
Sr. and has been continuously ac-
tive in livestock and farming since.
—— “As a candidate for my fir a t
public office. I want to thank the
many who have encouraged and
helped me. I would be honored to
be the commissioner of my pre-
cinct and would give the job my
sincerest efforts, serving all areas
: and all sections with equal fair-
new.” Freeman said. (Paid Poli*
