The Rev. James Reed, pastor,
says pews have been installed in
the new church building and will
be in use by the congregation Sun-
day morning. The Rev. Mr. Reed
will continue the series of sermons
on the Beatitudes with “The Deep-
er Hunger," a discussion of the
fourth Beatitude, Sunday morning.
Miss Poole is a Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) missionary to
the Belgian Congo. She is on fur-

FEW SUGGESTIONS
Here are a few concrete sugges-
tions I’d offer for getting along
with normal parents.
ONE: Try a little empathy: Em-
pathy means putting yourself in
the other guy’s shoes and trying
to see and feel as he does in order
to understand him better.
It's been my experience that to
reach a harmonious solution al-
ways requires trying to see the oth-
er guy's side. With parents this
means trying to talk things over
with them a little more reasonably

Before Cherry was a year old
my wife Shirley and I had made
a pretty good start at spoiling this
little jewel. Because of us, she
grew to want and expect attention
all the time The doctor said our

Sermon on the Mount and will act
as an introduction to a series of
detailed studies of that sermon.
The series will begin with the 7
p.m. service Sunday when the ser-
mon topic will be “What’s A Chris-
Ian Like?" In this sermon, the
Rev. Mr. Thomas will take a look
at the four beatitudes.
During the morning worship ser-
vice, new members will be intro-
duced to the congregation.
The pioneer and senior youth fel-
lowship groups will meet at 5 p.m.
to continue a study of compara-
tive religions.
On the agenda for the following
Sunday will be a morning sermon
entitled “Unchurched Faith,” and
an evening talk on "A Christian’s
Description Continued," both part
of the series covering the Book of
Matthew.
The Rev Mr. Thomas and Mur-
ray Kendrick will represent the
church at the Northeast Texas
Presbytery meeting in Sherman
Monday and Tuesday. Approxi-
mately 90 churches are expected to
be represented.
