We have sold The Tavern and the
new owners will take charge on July 1st.
It is not lightly that we sever our con-
nections and our decision to sell did not
come from a lack of confidence in the
future of Mercedes, but [has been made
only after due consideration.
We are not bidding farewell to our
many friends who have so loyally sup-
ported us here and we wish to extend
our appreciation for your loyal support
while in business here, and hope that
you will continue with our successors.
We are not leaving the Valley or Mer-
cedes, but plan to continue our home here

necessary to increase from time to
time due to the increased business,
until now its capital is $65,000.00,
with more than $60,000.00 surplus.
The Bank has made very few
