Roosevelt, in his official capacity as
governor in the state of New York,

mer United States Senator D. B. Hill
during his argument as counsel for
the corporations in the special fran-
chise tax case before the court of ap-
peals today. Mr. Hill attacked Presi-
dent Roosevelt for his course as gov-
ernor of this state, with reference to
the Bassage of the special franchise
tax law. He emphatically denied that
the corporations were responsible for
the alleged unconstitutional features
