Joe F. Cornish, a man of Statewide
reputation as a successful promoter of
i fairs, is in Austin today, having been
। invited here by directors of the Central
I Texas Fair Association for the purpose
• of looking over th© town and grounds
1 generally, in order that he may give :
I his opinion of what may be done this
j year, as well as planning the matter,
if this stage is reached, and the fair
I is to be immediately pushed.
I Friday morning Mr. Cornish was
taken to the proposed sites by W. E.
I Long, Murray Ramsey, secretary of the
fair association, and Director C. M.
Cabaniss, to the end that he may learn
of local conditions both by personal
inspection and conversation. No re-
port of the morning trip was made,
but it was given out At the Chamber
of Commerce there will be a meeting
of directors of the Central Texas Fair
Association this afternoon. At night
every one interested in the proposed
forthcoming fair is urged by fair di-
rectors and the Chamber of Commerce
to attend an open meeting at the
Chamber of Commerce assembly room.
Already some are convinced that the
coming of Mr. Cornish is the first big
step towards the beginning of work on
the first fair, and that matters will
| be vigorously pushed from now on.
It is to be hoped this is true, but as ,
one of the directors remarked Friday. ;
