George B. Kindle, Jr., 3-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. George B. Kin-
dle of Route 1, Van Alstyne, died
in the City-County Hospital here
Saturday afternoon at 5:05 o’clock.
Funeral services were held Sun-
day at 4:30 p.m. in the Crouch-
Moore Chapel, conducted by Rev.
Earl Rogers, pastor of the Full
Gospel Church, with interment in
Wilson Chapel Cemetery.
He was born in Matador, Texas,
the son of George B. and Lydia.
Pittman Kindle. Surviving, besides-,
the parents, are four sisters: Leona:
and Linda Kindle, at home; Mrs.
Irma Dean Collins of Springfield;
Mrs. Jackie Mae Hall, of McKin- -
ney; a half-brother, J. D. Spencer,
of Melissa; two brothers, Harold
Kindle, of Plano; Wilford Kindle,
of Van Alstyne, and grandmothers,.
Mrs. Jane Kindle, of Van Alstyne,.
and Mrs. Lou Pittman, of Califor-
nia.
G. W. Gerrish, 75, of Twin Fall,
Idaho, died Friday in a Salt Lake
City Hospital. Funeral services
were held at Twin Falls, Monday.
Mr. Gerrish was born in McKin-
ney, March 10, 1880, and was mar-
ried here in October 1906, to Miss
Bessie Williams. They moved to
Idaho in 1907, where they have
since lived.
Surviving are his wife and two
sons, Howard and Elsworth Ger-
rish, and two grandchildren, all of
Twin Falls; two brothers, Beecham
arid Hazel Gerrish, both of McKin-
ney; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Coffey,
of McKinney, and Mrs. F. L. Ad-
ams, of Abilene.

Mr. and Mrs. Arion Newton of
Fort Worth and Mr. and Mrs. Ce-
phas Farrell of Denton were Sun-
day guests in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Sperry in the Roland
Community.
Services were held Tuesday at
Turrentine-Jackson Chapel for
Randell Howard, 55, who died at
his home, 5612 Lewis Street, Dal-
las. He formerly lived in McKin-
ney, and was a painter and paper-
hanger by trade.
He was born November 20, 1900,
and was married in 1932 to Miss
Leia Lewis, in Oklahoma. The
family lived in McKinney for a

Services were held Monday at
2:30 p.m. in the Turrentine-Jack-
son Chapel for James C. Wright,
37, who died of a heart attack at
his home, Route 5, McKinney, at
10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. J. E. Bryan,
pastor of the Wesley Memorial
Methodist Church and Rev. J. L.
Koontz, of Dallas, conducted the
services. Burial followed in Wilson
Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were John
Harrington, Herman Crice, Bill
Province, Warren Blackman, Ike
Story and Jim Story.
He was born in Collin County,
November 1, 1918, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. William D. Wright. He
had lived in Collin County all of
his life. He was married in 1934 to
Miss Eura Myrick, and he was also
a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife; a daugh-
ter, Linda Wright, at home; two
sons, Pvt. Johnny Tim Wright of
the U. S. Army, stationed in Cali-
fornia; Gerald James Wright, of
McKinney; a brother, Eugene
Wright, and a sister, Mrs. Clarence

The Wylie High School Girls
basketball team, district champions
in 1955, won second place in the
North Texas tournament at
N.T.S.C. in Denton last week, ac-
cording to Coach R. C. Dodd.
Wylie won its first two games,
defeating Grapevine 51-30 and
Krum 47-27, only to lose to a pow-
erful Bowie team by two points,
6765 in a thrilling overtime finale.
Wylie led Bowie most of the
way in the final game Saturday
night only to see Bowie tie the
score with 30 seconds left to play
and win in the overtime period.
In the opener of the tourney
Wednesday night, Gail Dempsey of
Wylie was high point with 28,
Margie Cross had 21 and Kather-
ine Eubanks 2 points. Margie Cross
led the scoring in the Krum game
with 23 points, Dempsey had 11,
Connally and Barbara Goens 3
each and Eubanks 6. In the cham-
pionship game, Dempsey scored 27
points, Cross had 20 and Eubanks
18.
Two Wylie girls, Forward Gail
Dempsey and Guard Martha Hoop-
er, were named to the all tourna-
ment team.
Another fine tourney is in prog-
ress at the Prosper High School
gymnasium this week with cham-
pionship games scheduled for Sat-
urday night.
Boys’ teams from Blue Ridge,
Farmersville, Prosper, Princeton,
Bland, Celina, Anna, Community,
Plano B. Sanger, Westminster and
Melissa and girls’ teams from Blue
Ridge, Bland, Prosper, Farmers-
ville, Princeton, Westminster, Me-
lissa, Celina, Anna, Sanger, Plano
and Community and McKinney are
entered.
According to Prosper Coach Cur-
tis Christian, both championship
and consolation rounds will be
played. The tourney opened Mon-
day nad will close with champion-
ship games in both brackets at 6,
7, 8 and 9 o’clock Saturday night.
