Funeral services were held, at
Cisco Tuesday for Mrs. A. J. Ward.
Mrs. Ward was an active member
of the church and quite prominent
m its various societies.
She was a sister c- Mrs. R. L.
Mouldin of Dallas but formerly of
McKinney, and had visited here on
numerous occasions.
She is also survived by a broth-
er, Guy Dabney, and several grand-
children.

Mr. and Mrs. James were mar-
ried 60 years ago in St. Paul, Ark.
The home was attractively deco-
rated in chysanthemums and glad-
iolas. A delicious four-course din-
ner was served to the following:
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond James and
Marcus and Jane of Royse City,
Mrs. Avo Click, Mr. and Mrs. Tom-
my Lane and children, Mr. and
Mrs. Claude West, Mr. and Mrs. J.
B, Bacon, Jr., and children and
Miss Avo West, all of McKinney.
Mr. and Mrs. James came to Tex-
as from Arkansas in 1895, soon aft-
er their marriage. They moved to
Collin County in 1904 and have
lived in McKinney since 1937, com-
ing here from Blue Ridge where he
was a mail carrier for 40 years.
"They reared five children, two of
their sons having passed away a
few years ago. J. C. James was in
the automobile business in Terrell
at the time of his death, and Roy
P’Cach Johnson, Coach and
F. Simpson, E. A. Randles, Wil-
bur Thompson, eighth grade cheer
leaders, dates of boys on the team
and Dwayne Rickerson ,the student
manager.
Players who attended were Don
Allen, Glenn Coleman, Tommy Joe
Crutcher, Clifford Dickerson, James
Johnson, Butch McCrary, Ben Pior,
Edward Russell, Roy Smith, Steve
White, Phillip Carter, Billy Crow-
der, Robert Gracy, Robert Graves,
Jerry Kruze, Eugene Parker, Jerry
Odle, Paul Wayne Odle, Billy
Smith, Richard Turner and Ronald
McAdams.

The Collin County Agricultural
Stabilization and Conservation Of-
fice advise that the final date for
seeding winter legumes under
Practice D-5 in the county has
been extended to December 20th.
Federal -cost-sharing will be of-
fered on the planting of Austrian
Winter Peas, Dixie Wonder Peas,
Singletary Peas, Vetch and Button
Clover and on oats, barley, rye and
rye-grass when seeded with one of
the above legumes. A request for
cost-sharing must be made at the
county office, 123 S. Tenn. St., Mc-
Kinney before the practice is start-
ed to be eligible for any assistance.

Anna, in a ceremony read by Rev.
Luther A. Hill at 6 p.m. Thursday,
November 24, in the First Metho-
dist Church in Jacksboro.
Mrs. J. D. Craft, organist, pre-
sented the wedding music and ac-
companied Mrs. Anderson Show-
ver who sang “At Dawning
The Lord’s Prayer. W. J. Becker
of Dallas, Leonard Harlow of
Anna ushered and served as
groomsmen. Don Hendricks also
ushered. Ernest Lawrence of Mc-
. Kinney was best man.
Mrs Alton Lewis was matron of
honor’and Misses Ouita Sue Lewis
of Wichita Falls and Sandra Lewis
were bridesmaids. .
The matron was attired in a gold
taffeta frock and the bridesmaids
wore green taffeta. They all car-
ried bouquets of bronge mums. .
The bride was given in marri-
age by her father. Her gown was
made of imported white lace, de-
signed with a fitted bodice, having
an illusion yoke and a Peter Pan
collar, with push up sleeves and
full skirt. Seed pearls outlined the
yoke, and were used to form the
tiara to which the bridal veil was
attached. The bride carried a white
Bible topped by a white orchid.
After the wedding, a reception
was held in the home of the bride’s
parents. The house party included
Miss Pat Lewis of Wichita Falls at
the guest book, Miss Martha Enloe
of Ft. Worth, Mrs. W. W. Shead,
Miss Alice Evans, Mrs. J. L. Mac-
Farlane, Mrs. W. W. Tinney, Mrs.
J. A. Stevens, Mrs. R. H. Hess and
