Trophies and ribbons willbe presented for best float, best mar-
ching band and best mounted group. Also, a number of special
awards are to be presented.
The Allen Jaycees will assist in lining up the participating
groups while the Lions Club is in charge of traffic control. The
presentation of trophies and awards is made possible by the Allen
State Bank and the Rotary Club.
Parade Chairman Larry Parten said entrants should be at the
shopping center parking lot no later than noon Saturday. He add-
ed that all area youngsters are invited to bring their bikes and
join the march.
The groups and organizations thus far entered include, Allen
Fire Dept.; Allen Christmas Carolers; Allen Eagle Escadrille;
Allen Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; Allen Jaycee-Ettes; Allen Na-
tional Bank; Fountain Park Baptist Church; First Methodist
Church-Lucas; and Foxglen Homeowners Association.
Also Epsilon Sigma Alpha; ERA Colco Realty; DLM Inc.; Jack

Allen’s annual Christmas parade Saturday will have approx-
imately 70 entries of floats, marching bands and of course, the
star of every parade, Santa Claus, who makes his home in Allen.
Scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m., the parade route will
begin at the Cottonwood Creek Shopping Center, move west on
Main to Allen Drive where it will turn north and proceed on Allen
Drive to an area adjacent to the Royal Drive-In.

p.m. which is the hours it is open
Monday through Friday.
A telephone answering device
answers the phone. 24 hours a
day. The Chamber telephone
number is 727-5585.
