ends with the baptism of the strife of
the rival houses in the blood of both.
The production of Mr. Skinner is
said to be a most careful one, and as-
sociated with him are Marcia Van
Dresser, William Norris, Aubrey
Boucicault and other . well known
players.
Other plays in repertoire will be an-
nounced later. The company is
composed of a number of'players of
more than average ability. The lead-
ing man is Mr. Frank Dehfthhe; last
season’s leading actor of the Alcazar
Stock company of San Francisco. A

of his appearance to go and bring
home his bride, and he sends his
brother. Francesca takes the hand ■

band, and though she is soon unde-
ceived, Paolo does not picture his
brother to her. At sight of Lanciotto
she scarcely restrains her revulsion,
but allows the marriage to be cele-
brated so as to save her father. Lan
—Last night at Paggi’s store in South
Austin George Plumley assaulted J. J.
Brown and knocked him down with a
bottle, also attempting to cut him with
a knife, but was prevented by bystand-
ers. Brown was painfully hurt, but his
injuries are not serious. Plumley
escaped.

—Th* funeral of J. K. Brown Was
held yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock
from St. MMary's Catholic church. The
remains were buried in the Catholie
bemetery. Th* funeral was largely at-
tended.
— Miss Ella E. Halder, aged 20 year®,
died’yesterday morning at the family
residence. No. 410 East Nineteenth
street. Miss Hidden had been ill.for
some time past, and her death was not
entirely unexpected. She was one of
the eficient employes at C. L Condit
& Co.’s, and a moat amiable young
lady. The deceased was the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Halden. The
funeral will be held this afternoon at
5 o'clock.
—Hon. J. Frank Taulbee, a prominent
attorney of Georgetown, came in on
last night's train to attend to a case
in the district court. He is a candi-
date for floater frem Williamson and
Brnet counties. He is an able debater
and will make it lively for his
opponent. I
