And the auimal one by one
Have lost a tail or leg or eye

The top has lust its zeal,
The toys are wrecks that lie about
Beneath each vandal heel;
The gleaming toys, the glittering toys,

The drum, the top, the ball, the cart.
The wagon, wrecked and fall’n apart!
Old Noah’s ark is high and dry.
And the wheelbarrow wobbles weak;

And the kitten will not squeak;
But. ruin, rage, and wreck, come down.
