HOW MILLS BUY RICE.
Eagle Lake Advertiser:
Any mill when it buys a lot of
rice buys from a sample. No mat-
ter how red the rice is or how many
alligator heads or other kinds of
seeds may be found in the sample
if they buy at all. the rice is their
property. A farmer when he
selects a sample should draw a
sample from his best rice and also
draw from each of the other grade
if there be any and take samples
from at least twenty-five sacks of
each. Tie un the baca and take
them to the mills. By doing this
the sample is an honest one it
represents exactly what you have
for sale. Many samples have been
drawn for the mills and by con
stantly inspecting it or showing
i r lit I
same to inenas ouen aiiuougn
unintentionally the sample is not
what it was when first drawn.
However next year we have better
lopes that rice and cotton will have
a splendid inning.
