Ruth added two circuit drives to
his string in the second game of
the Tiger-Yankee series, bringing his
total for the season to 41.
New York won the game.
Ruth's first homer came in the
third inning. The first man up, he
knocked the ball to the top tier of
the bleachers in center field. The
second, in the sixth inning, cleared
the wall over right and scored
Peckinpaugh and Ward ahead of
him.
