How Much Is Beauty Worth?
A singular lawsuit which will
result in an appraisement of per
sonal beauty has just been tr.ed in
the Belgian court. The Countess
d'Argentcau was a deck cabin pas
senger on the Ostend-Dover mail-
boat when owing to some accident
the cabin was wrecked and the
countess was covered with the de-
bris of which she retained perma-
nent traces in a prominent scar on
the forehead. An action for dam-
ages has been the result and it has
been decided in her favor with
costs. The countess however mod-
estly refrained from herself asses-
sing the money value of the blot on
her features which are reputed to
be very handsome. This has been
left to a committee of doctors.
