It multiplies the alkalinity of the
saliva. That is Nature’s neutraliser for
acids which cause decay.
Thus every use gives multiplied
power to these two great tooth-protect-
ing agents in the mouth.
Film absorbs stains, making white
teeth cloudy. Film is the basis Cf tar-
tar. It holds food substance which fer-
ments and forms acids. It holds the
acids in contact with the teeth to cause
decay.

Film-coats make teeth dingy. So every
lover of glistening teeth should combat
that film daily.
The results will delight you and con-
vince you. Present the coupon for the
10-Day Tube. Start its use tonight.
Note how clean the teeth feel after
using. Mark the absence at the viscous
film. See how teeth whiten as the film-
coats disappear. The normal alkaline
mouth, following every use, is most
refreshing.
See and feel these results for ten days.

Film constantly breeds germs. They,
with tartar, are the chief cause of pyor-

How to fight it daily
Dental science has now found two
effective film combatants. Able author-
ities have proved them by many careful
tests.
A new tooth paste has been perfected,
to comply with five modem require-
ments. The name is Pepsodent. These
two great film combatants are em-
bodied in it.
Careful people of some forty races
now employ it daily, largely by dental
advice. You will also do so when you
know how much it does.

the friends of the attractive young

The war on film
One great object is to fight the film
on teeth. You can feel it now—a vis-
cous film. It clings to teeth, gets be-
tween the teeth and stays. And it forms
the basis for dingy, dangerous coats.

ANY WOMAN CAN
Give two women exactly the
same clothes, give them equally at-
tractive features and figures, and
one would stil look far more at-
tractive than the other if they dif-
fered in a certain respect.
The respect to which I refer is
in regard to grooming
if one woman knew how to put
her clothes on well and groom her-
self properly and the other didn’t,
there would still be a big differ-
ence in their appearance.
What Grooming Means
Grooming, of course, includes
many things—bathing. the care of
the nails and the hair, the care of
the skin and the cars of the clothes
themselves. When we speak of a

One Can Pay Too Much.
But one can spend time unjustifi-

tt must be a question of things
you want most and what you can
afford to spend A woman whose
sister has the reputation of being
perfectly groomed told me of a visit
the latter once paid her. They were
going off on a trip for the day, the
dishes had to be done, the house
put in order, children dressed. Her
sister spent an hour and a half
getting herself dressed to go out.

lift a hand to help with any of the
work.
The hairdresser in an expensive
hotel told me that many of the
women at the hotel came in twice
a day for a light wave because that
gave the best effect.
I call such things paying too high
a price for grooming. But between
that and going about with ill tended
nails, ill dressed hair, constantly
dropping hair pins, wrinkled clothes
and slippy shoe*, is a golden me-
dium of reasonable care in groom-
ing and adjustment which almost
any woman can attain.
