The First National Bank of
Mercedes has announced a
totally new concept in banking
which is being made available
for the first time to customers
throughout the area.
John C. Jones, Jr., presi-
dent of First National, indica-
ted that a comprehensive new
package of customer services
would be available. He said
that for a monthly fee of $3.00
anyone in the Mercedes area
would get a free checking
account, no minimum balance
required; free personalized
checks, the kind with name
and address printed on each
check; 10,000 worth of acci-
dental death/dismemberment
coverage, it is world-wide, 24
hour protection; 50% off on a
safe deposit box, free notary
public and other bank services.
Mrs. Beall, the former
Willie E. Webb, a native of
Georgia, married Robbie Beall
in 1921. She is survived by five
children, R. G. Beall, Ray
Beall and Royce Beall of
Jacksonville, Mrs. Mary Beall
Tucker of Krum and Mrs.
Billie Sue Beall Johnson of
Beaumont, 18 grandchildren
and two great grandchildren.

A' meeting to organize the
Holy Name Society of Our Lady
of Mercy Catholic Church was
August 14 at the Parish Hall.
The meeting was organized
by Msgr. Herbert Bockholt. He
explained that the purpose of
this Society of Catholic men
would be to aid the church in
whatever capacity is necessary.
Eighteen men were present
including Severo Cano, Fruc-
toso Munoz, Armando Marti-
nez, Alfredo Castaneda, Albert
