1960 basketball winning streak to
three here Friday night with a 63-
97 victory over Goldburg.
The girls also won, 57-45, with
Sheron Weber scoring 19 points for
Slidell.
Senior forward Steve Balthrop
was high point man for Slidell with
nine field goals and one free shot
for 19 points.
Th Greyhounds took the lead,
16-7 in the first quarter and were
never threatened throughout the
contest.

seriously threaten to overtake the
visiting Warriors. With eight min-
utos gone ta the third period. Bill
Wolters pounced on a fumble by
Warrior Quarterback Jack Lips-
comb on Bonham’s 27. The drive
faltered and died on the 14 after
six plays.
The passing combination of Lps-
comb and Halfback Mickey Wade
and the bull-rushing tactics of Full-
back BUI Partridge made the dif-
ference for Bonham. The Warriors
rolled up 851 yards on the ground
and another 115 in the air.
Wade was hauled down on the
Farmer 10 by Fullback Jerry Mc-
Gee after the Warrior had taken
a Lipscomb pass and covered 46
yards with » seconds left in the
first half.
BONHAM'S SECOND TD
A 37-yard pass play from the
Lewisville 98 set up Bonham's sec-
ond touchdown, with Wade stopping
out of bounds on the Farmer one
mid-way in the third quarter. Lps-
comb went over the middle for the
score.
Wade passed to Halfback Eddie
Thornton with two and one half
minutes left in the game for the
Warrior’s final score. Tommy Man-
kin missed on the Mat of throe
con version kicks after making the
first two efforts.
The win was the second district
victory for Bonham, and the first
Iom for Lewisville, which now has
a 1-1 mark for district competi-
tion.
